BAIT-CAL invites you on Thursday, March 24, to “Never in Her Wildest Dreams,” an evening with Belva Davis, the first African American woman hired to work on TV in the western United States. Davis helped change the face and focus of TV news by overcoming racism and sexism, and persevering to achieve a career beyond her imagination. Now she is sharing her story in her memoir, “Never in My Wildest Dreams: A Black Woman’s Life in Journalism.”
“No people can say they understand the times in which they have lived unless they have read this book,” said acclaimed author and poet Maya Angelou of Davis’ book.
The evening will consist of a reception and a conversation between Davis and Emmy Award-winning co-anchor of the KTLA Channel 5 Morning News, Michaela Pereira. Following the interview, Davis will answer questions from attendees and will be signing copies of her book. Space is limited, so please RSVP to wildestdreams@aftra.com.
The event will be at the AFTRA building, located at 5757 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the event starts at 7 p.m.
